We can help you find exactly the right 3-month to 4-year rental plus a whole lot more.
Rentals in Italy come in multiple varieties.
- Vacation Rentals – Expats Italy does not get involved with rentals less than 3 months.
- 3 Month Rentals – No visa is required to stay in Italy up to 3 months in any six month period. We can help you find the perfect 3 month rental.
- Student Rentals – If you have a student visa, no matter what your age, you may be allowed to stay in Italy for as long as one year, with the potential of a one year extension. We can help you find the right longer-term rental for your complete stay.
- Extended Rentals – If you have an extended visa, we can help you find the perfect rental for up to 4 years.

Our Expats Italy Concierge not only helped us find the right rental – she also helped us find everything we needed to feel at home!
Expats Italy Concierge
How We Help Find the Right Place for You
We use a completely unique approach to help you find a 3-month to 4-year rental property for your Italian stay.
We’ll connect you to a personal Expats Italy Concierge in Italy who speaks perfect English, is fluent in Italian, and is intimately familiar with living in your new home city. They know all the neighborhoods, many of the best properties, and all the supporting infrastructure. They’ll talk with you before you come so they clearly understand your budget and exactly what you need, and then they’ll help you find it.
First time residents in Italy often run into a variety of other issues that are uniquely Italian after they move in. Things that seem simple in other countries – like finding local doctors and the right local officials for visa and paperwork requirements – can often be difficult. Your Expats Italy Concierge can help you save time and frustration.
So while an Expats Italy Concierge will always help you find the right place to live, they can also help you through the difficult time of “learning how things work in Italy” during the first few weeks you are there. They can also help you quickly fit in by recommending local places that satisfy your personal preferences.
So eliminate all the problems most people have when looking for a rental:
- Spending hours on-line looking at listings.
- Never having any idea of what specific neighborhoods are like.
- Never knowing whether the property is being maintained and serviced properly.
- Never knowing what the landlords are like.
- Not understanding all the unique local requirements for your rental and stay.

Extended Stays in Italy for Expats
- No visa is required for a maximum 3 month stay in Italy – but you must exit the European community for at least 3 months between each cumulative 3 month stay.
- Many Expats rent for 3 months then leave for 3 months to avoid needing a visa.
- Any longer term stay requires a visa from the Italian Embassy for your home residence outside Italy. You cannot apply for a visa while in Italy.
- You must have a signed lease for a residence in Italy to apply for a visa.
- When you arrive in Italy with a visa for a long-term stay you have only 8 days to apply to local officials for a residence permit.
